Amazon Consultants is a leading Kenyan construction cost management firm founded in 1998 as a Partnership and incorporated in 2007. The management comprises of five directors all with a wide range of experience in the construction industry.

Our Directors
David Gaitho
David brings 33 years of experience in the construction industry, establishing himself as a seasoned expert in both government and private sectors. He is a registered Quantity Surveyor with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS) and holds prestigious titles such as Fellow of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (FIQSK), Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS), Fellow of the Institution of Construction Project Managers of Kenya (FICPMK), and Member of the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions to professional associations, serving as Chairman of IQSK, President of the Africa Association of Quantity Surveyors (AAQS). His exceptional service to the profession in Africa has been recognized with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the 2019 IQSK Excellence Awards and the “Merit Award for Service to the Quantity Surveying Profession” in 2020. In 2022, he received the "Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear" (MBS) from the President of Kenya and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Commonwealth University.
Steve Rukwaro
Steve is a distinguished professional in the construction sector, boasting over 33 years of expertise in cost and financial management for construction projects across both public and private domains.
He is a registered Quantity Surveyor with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS), a Professional Member of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya, a Corporate Member of the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK), and a Corporate Member of the Institution of Construction Project Managers of Kenya (ICPMK).
Michael Mbugua
Michael is a distinguished professional with more than 33 years of experience in the construction sector. He specializes in building cost estimation, cost planning, cost management, and financial oversight of construction projects.
He is a registered Quantity Surveyor with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS) and holds a professional membership with the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK), where he has previously served as Honorary Treasurer. Additionally, he is a corporate member of the Institution of Construction Project Managers of Kenya (ICPMK).
Bernard Mbugua
Bernard serves as a Director at the firm, bringing over 15 years of experience in the construction industry. He has been involved in a diverse range of projects across both public and private sectors, acquiring essential skills in cost management and contract administration.
He is a registered Quantity Surveyor with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS), a professional member of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK), and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). He is a IQSK member of the Contract Documentation Committee.
Rachel Patience
Patience serves as a Director at the firm and boasts 15 years of post-graduate experience. She is a registered Quantity Surveyor with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS).
In addition to her role at the firm, Patience is a board member of BORAQS, a professional member of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (I.Q.S.K).She also participates in the Finance & Administration Committee, is a corporate member of the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK), where she holds the position of Hon. treasurer and is part of the Governing Council. Rachel is currently the president of Women In Real Estate (WIRE)
